Born around 1925 at Kwali, Abuja; learned from her aunt the Gwarin Yamma coiling and pinching method; enrolled at Cardew's Abuja Pottery Centre in 1954; MBE and the Silver Award at the 10th International Exhibition for Ceramic Art, Smithsonian, 1963; ABU doctorate and the N20 note, 1977; NNOM 1980; OON 1981; the first woman on Nigerian currency; died in Minna on 12 August 1984, aged 59.
