Traced to Gbara, former Nupe capital; migrated from the Bida area about 1820; speak the Nupe-Tako dialect of Nupe; formerly the largest Nupe group; live in Bassa LGA and mostly in Lokoja; ruler the Etsu Bassa-Nge at Gboloko; language unlike that of the Bassa Nkomo who live in the same area.
