The Jukun are a people of the middle Benue valley, living mainly in Taraba State. In Benue State there is a Jukun community by the river at Abinsi, whose language is Wannu.
Overview
Wikipedia names Taraba, Benue, Nasarawa, Plateau, Adamawa, Bauchi and Gombe states and north-western Cameroon as the Jukun's traditional areas, and links them with the historical kingdom of Kwararafa. It notes that the Jukun of Wukari call themselves Wapa. Blench's Atlas uses the name Jukun for two related language clusters, Jukun and Kororofa. It lists the speech of Abinsi (River Jukun) in the Kororofa cluster.
