The Osuko of Obi holds one of the 22 first-class traditional stools of Nasarawa State listed by Daily Trust in 2012. The Nasarawa State (Creation of Additional Chiefdoms) Law of 2003 created the Obi Chiefdom, with the title Osuko of Obi, as a third-class chiefdom with its headquarters at Obi; it was first class by 2012. Wikipedia counts the Osuko of Obi, with the Osana of Keana and the Andoma of Doma, among the most powerful Alago rulers.
