Used across Nigeria and West Africa for malaria, fever, and gastrointestinal disorders; bark treats jaundice, roots address hernia and fever, and bark and roots contain a natural pain-relieving compound similar to tramadol.
Food Uses
The ripe fruit is eaten, and is also used as a cough remedy.
