The Plateau State Government lists the Irigwe New Year Celebration among the state's annual cultural festivals (2022), held at Miango and Kwall, in Bassa LGA in 1 January: an annual, colourful celebration of the New Year by the Irigwe people. The same list notes a recent tendency to bring several traditional festivals together into one larger festival, to save costs and attract more participants.
