The Aren Eggon is the traditional ruler of the Eggon and holds one of the 22 first-class traditional stools of Nasarawa State listed by Daily Trust in 2012. Daily Trust names the Nasarawa Eggon stool among those the military administration raised to first class after the state's creation in 1996. Blueprint (2022) reports that the Aren Eggon Bala Angbazo, born in 1933 in Wakama District of Nasarawa Eggon LGA, ascended the throne on 11 July 1981 and died in 2022 after 41 years.
