Basa-Gumna is a language of Niger State, according to Roger Blench's Atlas of Nigerian Languages (2020), which classifies it as Kainji (Western Kainji: Kamuku–Basa group). The Atlas places it in Chanchaga LGA. Other names include Basa Kuta, Basa-Kaduna, Gwadara-Basa. Speaker figures in the Atlas: only two known semi-speakers in 1987. The Atlas describes it as probably extinct: the population known as Basawa speaks only Hausa.
