Ebira is a language spoken in Nasarawa LGA of Nasarawa State, according to Roger Blench's Atlas of Nigerian Languages (2020), which classifies it as Nupoid (Ebira cluster). Other names include Igbirra, Igbira, Egbira. It is spoken mainly in Kogi and Edo states; in Nasarawa the Atlas names Toto and Umaisha towns, which are now in Toto LGA. The Atlas cites speaker figures of about 1 million in all (1989).
