Ekhwa is a language of Kaduna State, according to Roger Blench's Atlas of Nigerian Languages (2020), which gives no classification; Glottolog places it in the Plateau languages (Northern Plateau). The Atlas places it in Kachia LGA; INEC has a ward Ankwa in Kachia LGA. Other names include Iku-Gora-Ankwa, ékhwá, Ahua, Ehwa. Glottolog lists it as Iku-Gora-Ankwa (ikug1238).
