Gupa–Abawa is a language of Niger State, according to Roger Blench's Atlas of Nigerian Languages (2020), which classifies it as Nupoid (Nupe). The Atlas places it in Lapai LGA, around the villages of Gupa and Edzu. Its members include Gupa, Abawa. Speaker figures in the Atlas: more than 10,000 Gupa and 5,000 Abawa (1989 estimate).
