Huba is a language spoken in Hong, Maiha and Gombi LGAs of Adamawa State, according to Roger Blench's Atlas of Nigerian Languages (2020), which classifies it as Chadic (Biu–Mandara A: Bura–Higi major group, Bura group). Other names include Həba, Chobba, Kilba. The Atlas also names Mubi LGA, since divided into Mubi North and Mubi South. The Atlas cites speaker figures of 32,000 (1952); 100,000 (UBS 1980). Luwa is a dialect. A literacy programme and Bible translation are under way; Mark appeared in 1976.
