Biu–Mandara, also called Central Chadic, is a branch of the Chadic languages spoken in north-eastern Nigeria, northern Cameroon and Chad. Roger Blench's Atlas of Nigerian Languages classifies most of the Chadic languages of Adamawa State, among them Bata, Huba, Kamwe, Margi and Sakun (Sukur), as Biu–Mandara, and Glottolog lists Biu-Mandara (bium1280) as a family.
