Hwana is a language spoken in Gombi LGA of Adamawa State, according to Roger Blench's Atlas of Nigerian Languages (2020), which classifies it as Chadic (Biu–Mandara A: Tera group). Other names include Hona, Hwona. It is spoken at Guyuk and thirty other villages, which the Atlas places in Gombi LGA. The Atlas cites speaker figures of 6,604 (1952); 20,000 (SIL 1973); more than 20,000 (Blench 1987 estimate).
