Map is a language spoken in Bassa LGA of Plateau State, according to Roger Blench's Atlas of Nigerian Languages (2020), which classifies it as Kainji (Eastern Kainji: Amic). Other names include Amon, Among, Timap, Ba. It is also spoken in Saminaka LGA of Kaduna State. The Atlas cites speaker figures of 3,550 (1950). Three reading and writing books exist, and the Atlas describes it as vigorous (Jirgi 2016). Glottolog lists it as Amo.
