The Nok archaeological site, at Nok in Jaba LGA, is No. 30 on the National Commission for Museums and Monuments' list of proposed national monuments, in the 'Historic' category. Nok, a Ham village, gave its name to the Nok culture: terracotta sculptures were first found there in 1928, in a tin mine, and more near the village in 1943 (Wikipedia). Wikipedia dates the culture from about 1500 BCE to 1 BCE. Nok is a ward of Jaba LGA in INEC's directory.
