The Old Palace of the Deji of Akure, in Akure, is No. 55 on the National Commission for Museums and Monuments' list of declared national monuments. According to Wikipedia, tradition says the palace was built for Asodeboyede, the founder of the Akure dynasty, between the three main settlements of the time; it still stands and is dated to 1150 AD. The Deji is the ruler of the Akure Kingdom.
